Apply for an Israel Experience Scholarship!

The United Jewish Fund and Council offers Israel Experience Scholarships to Jewish children and young adults living in St.Paul, ages 13-22. Applicants who are planning their first trip to Israel will receive priority. Programs must be sponsored by a reputable organization and have a strong educational component. The UJFC reserves the right of final approval for funding.

The UJFC's Jewish Affiliation, Continuity and Identity (JACI) committee reviews scholarship applications on a regular basis.

Awards

  • Funding is limited, and amounts are subject to change.
  • Needs-based scholarships are based on the financial situation of the family. Amounts are determined each year by number of applicants and financial need.
  • Individuals enrolled in the Passport to Israel program are eligible to apply for scholarship funds if the UJFC Passport contribution is less than $750.

UJFC Participation

  • Scholarship applicants are limited to one community federation - the Minneapolis Jewish Federation or United Jewish Fund and Council of St. Paul.
  • At least one adult family member must make a pledge to the current year's Annual Campaign.
  • Families with past-due pledges to the United Jewish Fund and Council of St. Paul Annual Campaign are not eligible for scholarships until the past-due balance is paid in full, or arrangements are made with the Financial Resource Director.

Payment

The UJFC makes scholarship awards directly to the Israel program provider. After receiving an award letter, the family must send the UJFC a statement showing the total cost of the program.
