Donate Winter Clothing

Justice Squared, a program of the Jewish Community Relations Council, is collecting new winter gear to keep children displaced by Hurricane Katrina warm this winter.  Hat and mitten donations will reach Hurricane Katrina survivors and other children in need through the Jewish community’s partnership with Minnesota Hurricane Katrina Relief (MnHKR), a coalition of African-American agencies and congregations.

Through Thanksgiving Day, you can donate two ways:

1)  Donate hats and mittens in red bins located at local synagogues, Hillel, Minneapolis Jewish Day School, Sabes Jewish Community Center, St. Paul Jewish Community Center, Minneapolis Jewish Federation, Sholom Community Alliance, Talmud Torah of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Twin Cities Jewish Middle School, United Jewish Fund and Council, Brochin’s Bookstore, Cecil’s Deli, Crossroads Deli, Elijah’s Cup, and Fishman’s Kosher Deli.

2) Through the generous partnership of a local apparel manufacturer, Fresh Lids, you can purchase items to donate at a fraction of their actual cost.

By writing a check to JCRC, you can purchase:

o Hat: $1.50       o Mittens: $1.00       o Scarf: $1.00      o Earband: $0.50

Donations can be sent to JCRC, 12 North 12th Street, Suite 480, Minneapolis, MN 55403. Make checks out to JCRC and write “Hats and Mittens” in the memo line.
